[ The camera feed starts off a bit shaky. Inexperienced paws are handling the device, Katara's Riolu, Arnook. Oh hey look, there's Katara! Rolling backwards on... uh... her... roller blades...

Shouting out a panicked-- ]

Whoah, whoah, whoah! Wrong way, wrong way!

[ And then she's gone again, but you'll definitely hear a sound like someone crashing into bushes, followed by a very loud-- ]

Ow! Augh-- stupid--! Why can't I get this right?!

[ Annnnd then the feed whips around to show Katara in her Ace trainer attire and roller blades trying to get UNSTUCK from the bush she just landed in... backwards. There's a lot of snickering from the other side of the gear.

It seemed like a good idea at the time to FINALLY test out her roller blades, but... ]

[ Oh, oh, oh, BUT WAIT. Katara has noticed the snickering! ] Arnook?! Were you recording me?! TURN THAT-- [ STATIC. ]

[ Impressed Katara is impressed. And has a new goal. ] Well... I do want to get better at these. [ Since riding on them kind of reminds her of her ice-surfing, and anything that reminds her of and makes her feel closer to waterbending is a plus. ]

[ Looking up, Oh goody now my embarrassment is live. ;~; ]

Please...? [ The most embarrassed. ]

I'm alright, Lacus, nothing was hurt except for maybe my pride. [ She doesn't count the prickle of the bushes as "hurt" so this is truth. Finally she just calls out Kishi, who gives her a neck-up as well as someone to lean on and hold onto. Arnook, dedicated as ever, continues rolling. ]

Whew...! I thought I'd never get out of that thing. Roller blading is harder than it looks.

[ Somehow she's more embarrassed than annoyed that Wally is laughing. Probably because he's not a total stranger who is not-bothering-to-hide his amusement at her plight and she knows he'll actually help her up.

So rather than subject herself to any further undignified struggles she'll offer a sort of mortified look. ] That might be nice. I don't think I'm getting out of here on my own.

[ And she's not too proud to admit it. ]

[ At least he's not laughing. ]

Well, I was trying to teach myself to use these roller blades, but that isn't going so well. [ She's apparently bad at teaching herself much besides waterbending, really. ]

[he quirks his brows a bit. pardon him as he thinks of some kind of rolling thing with blades on it.] Roller blades?

[ Oh, someone else who didn't know what those were before Johto! She feels a little better, and holds up one leg to show the camera the wheeled "shoe". ] Shoes with wheels on them, though how anyone is supposed to balance on these things is beyond me.

[he looks at the shoe wheel strangely before turning his attention to Katara.] Looks like it's meant to kill you then anything else.

[ That earns a bit of a laugh at least, and she finally gets Kishi out to give her a "hand", and will continue using the Lapras for balance. Once she's upright again-- ]

Well, the idea of it didn't really look any more dangerous than my ice boarding, but they're a lot harder to get the hang of than they look.

[ok he's gotta ask this...] Ice boarding?

[ That's okay. Ask all the questions you want, bro. She can talk about waterbending all day. ]

It's a trick I do with my waterbending. I make a platform of ice and use it to move across the water.

Water...bending? [;3; brb asking all the questions]

But at least she gets that people aren't familiar with bending here. Pausing to look thoughtful, like, how to explain this? ]

I can control water and other forms of it without touching it, by using my body.

So you can basically control any liquid form??

Yes, that's right. [ just don't ask about liquids in the human body plz because REASONS ]

It's super easy, you just gotta get the hang of it. Mostly you gotta keep your feet moving.

[ Looking at the blades, then back. ] I guess that's where I keep messing up. When I ice board I have to try to keep my legs still. The water and my arms do all the work, and this is nothing like walking.

[ Uno momento, calling out her Rapidash to help her up.

AND NOW SHE'S UP. ] Thanks, Jet. [ ... Kinda... holding on a bit for balance. Let's try this again shall we? ]

Must be neat. Too bad you can't do that here.

[ Small smile. ] Yeah, I really miss it. I've been a waterbender since I was too young to realize it. I can't believe I've gone an entire year without it already.

[ A sigh, and then a slightly bigger smile. ] What about you?

Roller blades... I wonder why they're called that.

[ Huh, she hadn't thought about it, though she might remember Sokka muttering something along those lines when she got them. She gives them another look. ] I have no idea, honestly. They don't look like blades at all, though I get the roller part...

[ WELL OKAY THEN, just... don't go getting hurt, Hiccup. ]

I... I guess so. I mean, it's kind of like ice boarding, but on land. It was kind of exciting.

[ And so Katara uses one hand to gesture, air-doodling a little circular thing. ] I just make a platform of ice that I can stand on while I move across the water. [ What... IS that? She saw some last year at Halloween and Easter. ]

Can't really say that I could do all of that... But I super strength, hearing and sight.

[ Lacus is visibly relieved to see that Katara was alright. ] I do understand. I honestly can't roller blade either ...

... and I admit that I never really had the inclination to try it either. Why the sudden interest in rollerblading, Katara?
