09 Water Whips .//. Sooner or later everyone wakes up (Video: Violet City)

[This has become entirely too common place for Katara's liking, her friends are dropping like flies, yet she never seems to find herself amongst those spirited back. The waterbender is trying not to seem depressed all the time, but it's hardly easy with all the disappearances around her as of late.]

So... Zuko went home a while ago, Mordecai, and Alfons too. This morning I found Toph's things and Melon Lord's Pokeball. I can't reach her gear...

[This one hurts just as badly as Sokka and Zuko's disappearances, that's the thing. These people were family.] If anyone finds a Machop or Furret, let me know, please? They answer to "The Boulder" and "Suki".

Has anyone else noticed a lot of people disappearing lately? It seems like it's happening in big groups every time it does. [She's doing her best to sound collected, and manages a small smile.] Let me know. Thanks.

Ah - sorry t'hear that.

I haven't been able t'keep track of who goes, but ... m'best friend I'd met up with in Violet got sent home not long after we caught up... I'm a bit far from Violet right now, but I'll keep an eye out if I see those pokémon.

I'm sorry, Heiji. This place has really awful timing, doesn't it? [She really wishes you didn't have to say you related, that's rather sucky for you. Still, she's thankful for the thought.]

Yeah, it does; least it seems like people get sent home, an' if th'guess I've got from what happened with Shiho's right, th'timing's pretty close. Just means we get t'take up th'slack for what they'd be doin' if they were still here, eh? [~~You hear that Kid just because Kudou went home-~~]

's no problem; I'd rather see'em get taken care of well, too... though at least it seems like there's not many people that'd hurt'em. [Tarantulas went home, and he hasn't seen much of other worrying cases so far...]

Yeah, we were on our way to meet with Ed's friend from home. [... We'll travel faster with fewer people, but ARGH.]

You're right. The best thing we can really do is just keep moving, and that's definitely a plus. Even if they go back to the wild they'll be happier free, I guess.

[She shakes her head and pushes gloomy thoughts aside. I WILL NOT BE A MOPEY MESS EVERYTIME I TALK TO YOU, GUY. :|] I haven't talked to you in a while, but how have things been, Heiji? Are you doing the gym challenge?

[That's the spirit - keep moving and not give the people who left a reason to want to pop you for being stupid when you see them again!]

I am - took a bit of a detour t'check on a friend of mine, but now that things're fine there, I'm headin' to Azalea t'get my second badge; Baskerville's evolved, an' a few of the others, too. He's still a chicken about water, though. [He turns the Gear so she can see the now rather ... large Houndoom, flopped out on the grass where they're taking a break.] You been havin' any luck with th'gyms yourself?

[Oh man, tell her about it.]

Wow! So that's what he evolves into? Katara looks impressed, then laughs a bit that he's still afraid of water. Can't fault him for that, at least.] Zuko's Vulpix isn't too keen on water either. [She turns her own gear to where Kishi is chilling on the shore of the beach herself. She's a LOT bigger than when Katara first got her. A LOT. She's at her full size now.]

I'm pretty sure Lapras don't evovle, but she's gotten big enough that she could easily fit a few people on her back.

[Katara grins, back on the feed now.] My team has gotten pretty big. I think we're just waiting for another person from Ed's home before we move on. We were all on our way to Mahogany town before all that stuff with people's souls started happening and... me and Ed kind of... both got attacked. [Sheepish grin here.]

But we've got got our Violet City badges, and we're just deciding if we should go through the direct route or try our luck with the shortcut. I'll be trying at the next gym we come across, though.

Yeah, th'fun part is, I've seen some even bigger dogs in Johto. [Arcanine = transcending doghood.] I think th'water thing's just a fire type thing; at least he's not tryin' t'hide in my jacket anymore. [He laughs at that, with how big Bas is now...]

[And gives a whistle at Kishi - who's easily one of the larger pokémon he's seen.] Looks like you're all set if you've got t'cross water, there.

I got lucky an'managed t'not get hit by th'Shedinja; mostly Yuki - was like she saw'em comin' before I did. [Remember the little Smoochum that tagged along with the girl he'd travelled with off and on? Yeah. She's now a Jynx, and waving at the camera from the background.] Did you guys come out'f that okay? I heard a bit about weird dreams, but...[Well, as worried as he is, at least it's a danger that's past.]

I got Victor t'calm down, but he never did warm up t'people, so I let'im go out by Olivine; left me with th'five, but we're doin' pretty well at that. An'Kaguya - well, she's not so little anymore. [Another tip to where the Yanmega is flying in circles overhead...] If you've got a bigger flyin' type, they can get you around th'wierd tree thing that's blockin' the path, even if they can't carry y'too far; Kaguya lifted me over it t'get to Goldenrod quicker once already.

Yeah, that makes sense. They probably wouldn't want to get near something that could hurt them so easily. Kishi was kind of edgy around little Aurum for a while too.

[She then waves to get Kishi's attention.] Hey, Kishi! Remember Heiji and Baskerville?

[Have a happy, loud bay for this, Heiji. She can't help but be kind of loud, big vocal chords. At least it sounds pretty? Katara laughs, turning back to the gear.] And Kishi says hello. [She grins more, waving back at the gear if Yuki can see it.] We did. We both had the dreams too, but... hey, we're both still here, alive and well, right?

[There's a beat, and then--]

Looks like your team had a lot of growth too. I'm sorry about Victor, but it sounds like he'll be able to relax in the wild at least...

[She looks thoughtful. Nanao will end up helping them out, but for now--]

Really? I'll keep that in mind. Maybe we can use that. Last time we tried Ed got knocked flat on his butt.
