Everyone that Katara encounters while in Johto will get a spot on the chart here. This will likely be under a constant state of construction as a result. If you'd like to have your character added please just leave a comment below!

Immediate castmates will receive priority followed by everyone else afterward. These are also generally listed in order of initial arrival or when they contacted Katara (or Katara contacted them). I'll try to keep those that are in-game at the top of their respective lists.

Status: In game

Katara's very first conversation with Wally followed an accidental post he'd rather forget. If you were to ask her he seems sweet what bias, there is no bias here sowhatifhecalledherattractive. Her return to Johto has given him hope that Midori might come back as well. That's great! Just... she's not sure if she should also warn him that she may not remember... like Ed and Sokka. She probably won't, she couldn't stand to take someone's hope away like that, but she's also worried he'll get hurt if that does end up being the case. Ah, decisions, decisions.

She's moved in with Wally, Robin, and M'gann since arriving in Goldenrod.

"When it comes to freak outs I think Wally could give Sokka a run for his money."


• • • Robin .//. Young Justice -

Status: In game

Robin is one of those people that Katara has an easy time getting along with. They can banter back and forth and be playfully competitive, and they're around the same age, so that helps. Unbeknownst to her Robin kind of looks up to her. They've got some things in common and don't even realize it yet, so there's also that fun stuff waiting to come to light.



Since she'll be moving in with the others they'll likely end up working together on the chores and get to bond over being the parental figures in their respective groups at least as far as Wally and Sokka are concerned LAWL.



Other Johto Residents

• • • Envy .//. Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) -

Status: In game

Katara's feelings towards Envy are incredibly complicated despite seeming so straight forward. When they first spoke she had no idea who he was or what he'd done, and they were at least acting civil. After she found out the truth, that he's hurt Ed, Winry, and Al by killing someone very dear to them, that changed. She was overcome with anger and hurt out of empathy for her friend first. After the shock of the news wore off she was distrusting. They bumped into one another in Ecruteak and had a Pokemon battle. Katara won, to her satisfaction, but she probably wishes they hadn't had the match at all. She saw something from Envy that she didn't want to see, though he probably doesn't realize it. It was so much easier to dislike him when she DIDN'T know that he could actually be nice to anyone or anything besides himself. Now she has to admit that he's actually maybe just a little better than her mother's killer. Katara doesn't have the greatest history with letting her guard down around enemies, so needless to say she's wary.

When she returned home he received Zuko's Vulpix. He could have done a lot of things with the Pokemon but for some reason he chose to return her. It could be the fact that she'll give Katara just as hard a time as he did or it could be that maybe he's not so bad (no it can't), she's not sure she wants to know.


• • • Konner Kent (Superboy) .//. Young Justice -

Status: In game

• • • Danny Fenton .//. Danny Phantom - ★ ❣

Status: In game

Katara didn't travel with Danny for long but the two got along well enough, and spoke on several occasions. They both seemed to enjoy teasing Ed and giving him a hard time about Winry. Katara also tried to help keep Danny out of trouble while she was there. Originally Katara received her Squirtle from Danny.


• • • Heather Mason .//. Silent Hill - ❦ ❣

Status: In game

Katara has only spoken with Heather a handful of times, but the conversation has been friendly on all instances. She was one of the first helpful people she spoke with on Katara's first day in Johto and she also encouraged her when Sokka returned home. Katara considers them to be on friendly terms and would like to get a chance to meet up in person, try to become better acquainted. She also sees Heather as someone she could ask for Johto-related-advice since she knows she's been around far longer than she has.


• • • Cruz Schild .//. Needless - ❦ ❣

Status: In game

Cruz is really sweet and seems to care a lot about others well being. Katara can relate to this. He's calmed her down and cheered her up twice now. Katara considers them friends, or at least on friendly terms. I'm also not quite sure that Katara realizes yet that Cruz is actually a boy.


• • • Estelle .//. Tales of Vesperia - ❦ ❣

Status: In game

Estelle was one of the people kind enough to contact Katara out of concern when Sokka disappeared. They talked very briefly but Estelle reinforced Katara's hope in the situation. Katara likes Estelle and admires her compassion for others, but wants to become better acquainted with her. She feels a little regretful that most of the times they spoke early on was just when she needed to be consoled. She's resolved to make most of her memories good memories with her from now on.

You'll find here any CR that Katara has had at Route that is no longer here. I'll try to list these by character as well as the player's name and which "version" is being talked about. Hopefully that will keep things nice and organized for when characters come-and-go with new players and no game-memories.

Status: Returned Home

Katara met him the first night in Johto, caught in the same rain storm. He seemed nice enough at the time, and pretty laid back. They met up again in Cherrygrove when the bugs attacked and have managed to keep in touch with each other since then. She considers them to be friends and would trust him to have her back again if it came down to it, and she'd do her best to return that kindness. They have all kinds of stories about beating off killer bugs and pine cones with broomsticks and walkers and canes. She'd like a chance to challenge Heiji to a Pokemon battle to see how far they've both progressed.

In December they ended up as travel companions along with her brother Sokka. The two were planning to gather their last Johto badges before the trio moved on to Kanto, but Katara returned home in February before they made it to Blackthorne. Her starter, Kishi, went to Heiji when she left. When she returned in April they met up again to travel together once more before Heiji then returned home a week later. Heiji's starter, Baskerville, as well as two of his others have been charged to Katara's care.

Katara saw Heiji as an older brother figure, but because he was always one of the first people to talk her through particularly rough disappearances she's trying harder than usual to take their pact from a while back to heart.

Status: In game

Ed needed anger management classes. They seem to go back and forth between normal conversation and arguing all the time, especially if the adjectives short, little, or small are used. She reached him via video on the Pokegear and offered to show him the ropes in Cherrygrove. When Katara found herself traveling solo she asked to travel together with Ed and ended up with him as well as Alfons and Ieyatsu, at least for a time. They'd been travel companions ever since. They've survived soul sucking bugs, canon updates, dark type invasions, and one or two villain plots since and grown close. Katara had even started to develop feelings for him before Winry arrived. She never got around to acknowledging those feelings and instead put her focus into helping to reunite all the members of the family-- Ed, Winry, and Alphonse. It was a very big blow when he returned home.

Did I mention they argued a LOT?

He's returned to Johto without memories of his first visit. Katara hasn't had a chance to speak with him yet.

Alphonse traveled with Katara and Winry for a while, and Ed when he was there, but Koree plays both and is lazy so she isn't going to write anything here. They got along. They kept Ed in line. They had stuff in common. He returned home after she did.

The first time these two talked it was after Katara found Nari. They get along pretty well so far. He's told her a bit about his life back home and Katara finds him interesting. They have an agreement to stay in touch and let one another if they should talk to new arrivals asking for the other. Katara considered him a friend for the duration of his stay. She received two of his Pokemon when he left, but she never got the chance to really train with them.

He seems like a gentleman, and not the stuffy type. That earned points with Katara right up front. He showed up not long after she did to Route and seemed equally lost with the technology, so she kind of took it upon herself to try to mother him even though he's older give him some pointers. Something about the way he seems to carry himself speaks a lot about his character. They were travel companions until he returned home in May.

Alfons was kind and polite. Katara hadn't had much logged CR with him but they definitely become friends over the duration of their time traveling together. He helped look after her and train her Pokemon while she was asleep for a week. Because of his work as a physicist and his preference for logic over the mystical he reminds Katara a little of Sokka.

Another one she met during the invasion of the bugs, everything about Nai sent Katara's maternal instincts kicking into overdrive. She got him to the Pokecenter with Jet's help but wonders why and how a little kid ended up dragged into this whole Johto mess. She hasn't managed to keep in touch with him since that night.

Youji was seeking advice on prank payback against two of his travel companions when Katara contacted him on the Pokegear. They've swapped some banter about said possible pranks, and he's one of the few people she's talked about the war to. When Katara fell asleep for a week Youji was one of the people who contacted Ed to make sure she was alright. She's glad for that, to know that she's made some more friends in Johto. With her nature she'd stop in a heartbeat to help him out if she thought she could.

Youji returned home maybe the same day or a day after Katara's return, so she didn't get to speak with him before he left, but she did receive one of his Pokemon to care for and she's going to do her damned best. Youji was a really nice guy as far as Katara is concerned, and she looked up to him a bit.

Katara met Mordecai in the Cherrygrove Pokemart talking about broken Pokeballs. Later that same day they bumped into one another during the bug invasion. They've been speaking more often lately, and seem to be going at about the same pace on their travels through Johto. Mordo was another one of the guys that got in touch with Ed when Katara passed out, and after she woke up and recovered the two had a nice chat on the roof of the Violet City Pokemon Center.

Katara and Aoko spoke on a handful of occasions, usually about someone returning home when it happened. Aoko was one of the people that encouraged Katara and gave her something to think about regarding people's coming and going from Johto. The two were mutual friends, but were still getting better acquainted when she was sent back home.

Status: Returned Home

Sokka is Katara's older brother, the two are very close. He was the first of the two to arrive in Johto and Katara was relieved to find him there. They met up in Cherrygrove City where they were resting up to head for Violet when he disappeared a few days later. Katara was devastated and only a small bit relieved (for Sokka) by his disappearance but was determined that she needed to keep moving forward.

He came back and the two finally got a chance to travel together-- just like old times. Unbeknownst to Katara Sokka returned home shortly after she did, but even though he's not in Johto anymore she's grateful that they at least had a few months together.

Status: Returned home

Zuko and Katara usually don't see eye to eye most of the time. They're prone to bickering often, but that's no small feat for either of them and the truth is that she trusts Zuko with her life. She hasn't really spoken to him that often since coming to Johto (being in different cities, and seeing as Zuko's not the small talk type) but she's glad to have a friend she can trust here... Even if he is waking up with strange girls in his bed.

He returned home for a while, but to Katara's mix of relief and guilt he did return not long after, and from closer to her own timeline, though it wasn't for very long.

Status: Returned Home

Azula is Zuko's younger sister. The two are about the same age but their similarities end there. Back home Azula is one of the forces trying to put a stop to their plans to end the war. She's manipulated many people and is essentially the one responsible for sort of killing Aang that one time. Even though Katara has seen the end of the war already and knows the outcome it does nothing to make her any happier about Azula showing up in Johto. When she returned home nearly as suddenly as she left Katara felt relieved. She feels sympathy for the Azula of her own time, but the Azula that hasn't lost her mind yet is still considered a threat to everyone Katara cares for.

Status: Returned Home

Aang is the first person outside of the village and her family that Katara has ever met. He's like a little brother to her, an incredibly important part of her family. They've seen the good and the bad sides of one another-- well, THIS Aang hasn't seen Katara at her worst yet, but Katara knows his future self has so same difference. It's possible that she's even more protective over the "younger" Aang than she is over the one from her timeline. As soon as she found out Aang and Toph showed up she raced back for Cherrygrove on Jet for nearly four days straight to get them.

Recently he returned home again, but it was really, really good see him even if it was just for a few months.

Status: Returned Home

Toph and Katara are like sisters: They argue a lot when Katara gets too bossy, they have different ideas about fun, they're protective of each other, and as comes with being a part of the Gaang-- they consider one another family. Toph is blind but since coming to Johto she was able to retain enough Earth bending to be able to see. Katara is trying to help show her the ropes, and she's definitely glad that she's in Johto. As soon as she found out Aang and Toph showed up she raced back for Cherrygrove on Jet for nearly four days straight to get them. She was upset by Toph returning home, but knowing Toph she wouldn't stand for getting all weepy about it, so she pushes on with a positive attitude.
